Francisco d’Abreu was born in Évora, on the 7th of Setembro 1978.
He began riding in 1991 at the University of Évora’s Equestrian Centre with Sergeant Adelino Guilhermino.
In 1993 and 1994 he attended “Summer Riding Courses and Stallion Handling” organised by the National Stud.
He studied the course, Technical Equestrian Managment at the Professional School of Agriculture in Abrantes from 1994 to 1997 where he achieved the position of Teacher of Equitation.
Work experience with João Oliveira Duarte during the summer of 1995.
Work experience with Nadine François during the summer of 1996.
He worked with the rider João Oliveira Duarte between 1997 and 2001.
He worked at the Stud Farm of Eng. José Jorge Canelas between 1998 and 2001.
He worked at the Stud Farm of Maria D´Andrade de Oliveira e Sousa between 2000 and 2001.
He obtained a BA in Engineering Production at the Escola Superior Agrária in Santarém between 1997 and 2001
Work experience in Holland with olympic rider Coby Van Baalen, from March to November 2001, where he worked German and Dutch Warmbloods.
Between 2001 and 2004, he worked with the international rider, Carlos Pinto in France, where from september 2002 his position became “responsable des écuries”.
He has worked at the equestrian centre, Lusitanus S.A., as the Technical Director from November 2004 until the present day.
Since 1998, he has regularly attended clinics with Carlos Pinto.
3rd place in Elementary 3 and 2nd place in the Intermediare I Kür in the Final of the Portuguese Cup in 1999.
1st place in various unaffiliated competitions at Intermediaire I Level in 1999º.
First place in various competitions presenting stallions and mares both ridden and in hand in model and gait classes.
With the purebred Lusitano mare Vima he entered and won three prelim tests.
1st and 2nd place at both Elementary and Medium levels at the first competition of the Portuduese National Cup in 2006.º
1st place in an Elementary 2 and a Prelim 2 at the International Festival for the Purebred Lusitano Horse in 2006.
1st place in Prelim 2 & 3 and Elementary 2 & 3 in Golegã 2006.
He has presented the following Lusitano stallions which have been graded: Mississipi (Quintq de S.Sebastião), Napoleão, Tarado(Infante da Câmara), Josélito (Philipe Lautier) e Viena (Pedro Passanha).
